Ice melt (salt for melting ice) has come up a couple times on the list
lately. Once in the context of keeping it out of the hands of
children. We keep a sand/salt mixture (provided by the city) in used
large laundry detergent jugs (about a gallon). It finally occured to
me that the caps could be child resistant. A quick web search
suggests that suitable containers with child resistant lids may be
available.

Fred who used sand from a detergent jug the other day to get the car
from the driveway into the garage. It came out slowly due to the
opening size but that discourages using too much.
