Here at Cantine’s Island, Hudson Valley, New York, we have a “Participating
Member” category. For a nominal monthly fee members can enjoy all the
benefits of membership, are expected to be involved in committees and
attend HOA meetings (although they cannot vote/block proposals). For an
additional fee they can also use the laundry facility. The original idea
was to have people involved who would essentially constitute a waiting list
as units became available.
We have a few units that have some rental space included and we encourage
those renters to have PM status but don’t require it.
