Further to my recent post on developer-driven coho, I wanted to add that, in my opinion, the capitalism versus communism/socialism debate is increasingly a red-herring (irrelevant). Consumerism is "the enemy"(!), and is endemic to all political stripes - in fact, you could say that whether it's state or corporate control over resources, it's just two sides of the same coin. Consumerism is tougher to fight, because it's not the other guys, it's *us*. And it is consumerism that I think cohousing offers the best hope for dealing with.
