We at Charlottesville Cohousing are wondering how other cohousing groups have balanced the frequency of meetings and the speed with which the cohousing development process can move ahead. We currently hold two 3-hour general meetings each month, followed by a dinner social. The meetings are well-planned and productive. (Individual committees usually meet once between each general meeting.) Some of our members say they cannot meet more often, while others feel that without more frequent meetings we may move ahead so slowly that current and potential members will lose interest and the process will stall. We are currently in the site search phase. We'd sure like to hear from other groups about how they achieved their balance. Thanks!
