Common House Fireplace. John, We have a fireplace in our CH. It came with the building, an old Berkeley farm house. Although it has some romantic appeal, we don't use it more than twice a year (at most). Reasons: mild climate, don't really need it for heat (our hot air furnace works fine) procuring firewood--a hassle pollution in an already polluted urban environment. We don't need to add to it.
