The real estate agent who sends us MLS listings told me she had come across 
an interesting article on cohousing in the local True Value hardware store.  
I went right out to purchase a copy, and it really is a good article.  It's 
in Fine Homebuilding's annual issue on Houses, Spring/Summer 2001, No. 139.

Titled "A Deliberate Neighborhood", it's by John Abrams, developer and 
resident of Island Cohousing on Martha's Vineyard.  He covers all the 
relevant topics, including eco-sensitive development, affordability, working 
with town officials, and building community.  This would be an excellent 
article to share with professional developers and builders who are unfamiliar 
with cohousing.  (Yes, Shelly, I will bring it to share with Shelly the 
Developer).
