Hmm - the subject header sounds like a 12 step program... ;-) Sharon said: > If I were to add anything to our project, it would be 2-3 large > bedrooms with private baths and good sized closets around a shared > sitting room and kitchen. > > Using the commonhouse kitchen and living space might not be sufficient > since one doesn't want the people "living" in the commonhouse to have > a different relationship to the space or the community than other > residents. Plus this age group is looking for independence. That's one I strongly agree with! I would not want anyone "living" in the common house. Having guest rooms wouldn't bother me but I don't want anyone "living" in the common house that everyone is supposed to share. Rentals sharing some space makes some sense though - it would surely make it easier to have affordable rentals. My 20 year old step daughter is currently staying with us til she can get herself on her feet and finding a rental she can afford is really really hard for her now. :-( She needs private space very much but I imagine she could share a kitchen and sitting room, especially if it saved her a lot of money. I wonder how often grown up children of cohousers end up in a cohousing project (the same or different than their parents)? Anyone have any guesses or statistics? mews MaryEllen Wessels / Hopeful Romantics mew [at] mewsic.com http://www.mewsic.com (978) 345-6110 _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
