What a great idea about the oven! I almost never use my oven either. I have a counter top convection/microwave oven that can hold a two quart caserole. I love the idea of adding cupboards instead. --eileen -----Original Message----- From: cohousing-l-admin [at] cohousing.org [mailto:cohousing-l-admin [at] cohousing.org]On Behalf Of Ann Zabaldo Sent: Sunday, June 02, 2002 3:05 PM To: cohousing-l [at] cohousing.org Subject: Re: [C-L]_Unit design for efficiency One thing I would add to Liz's excellent advice is doing away w/ the kitchen oven -- altho' I would put in the hook up for resales. As a single person, just a range top would work fine for me. The oven creates a lot of heat and it's expensive to use. I bake in a toaster oven and use the microwave for almost everything. If I ever have to do some serious baking I can use the CH kitchen. The space the oven occupies is wasted -- I store stuff in it. Now ... if I was a bread baker the story would be different...
