People who have pet allergies will not enjoy that pets are in the commonhouse. Our pet policy forbids this for that reason. We have three members who can not be in a house where cats live, and two who have the same issue with dogs. This limits their ability to come to private home parties, tv shows, etc. The Pet policy was the most flaunted of our agreements and so we added a set of steps, which move through mediation, to fines, to pet removal by the board to give it teeth. This worked, and those who found the pet policy ignorable, no longer do so.
