I have a large blanket which is my dog's space while I am in the home or guest place or I have a portable crate which I bring and my dog is in it. My experience and commitment is that my dog is clean and, even in a carpeted space, she does not romp and play so vacuuming up is effective.... Maybe buying one dog crate to have available for guests with service dogs would solve the problem.
