I think Karen's comments are good ones.  I would add that  such simple things 
as having a known agenda for a meeting and holding to the time (or just 
about) you've set for a meeting are helpful.   Also get yourself a Decision 
Book 
and a good soul to compile it.   Our frustration has been - not consensus 
decision-making - but sometimes finding ourselves deciding things over again. 

Cantine's Is Cohousing has been here 5 1/2 years and all decisions are by 
consensus.  We volunteer to facilitate meetings and since most of us have now 
done it quite a bit there is comfort level in reflecting back an emerging  
decision.
