Hi Amy, IMO there are serious pitfalls. The solid wood cabinets in my house were made by a community member. (I moved in 3 years ago). The cabinets upstairs still don't have doors. I don't think that someone who wasn't a community member would have done that, or if they did - I might have decided to resort to measures which I'm not comfortable using against a community member.
