We at Monterey Cohousing in Minneapolis recently tried out a new process for dispute resolution, called Circle Process. We were able to have two trained facilitators come and work with our group, from a local neighborhood mediation project. We chose a topic that was just starting to simmer (presence of dog poop in the courtyard despite our Pet Policy) that we probably could have resolved ourselves using our usual processes, partly just to find out how the Circle Process would be different. We were really pleased with the results. Has anybody else used this? Having outside facilitators made it a lot easier for some of us to be comfortable speaking our feelings, because we didn't have to be in "meeting mode" where we try to get the business/work of the community done efficiently. I'd be particulary interested to know if anyone from the Fort Collins CO area knows of circle process facilitators there as I'm part of a group there that might benefit. (reply to me off-list with that info if anybody has some suggestions.)
