Ramadan starts on October 27th this year, but it's a month long so it's a little hard to schedule around. :-) A Google search on "muslim calendar" will get you to a lot of fine resources fairly quickly (a few are obsolete though). When I worked for a devout Muslim, I had to know not only the holidays but also the hours of prayer each day, because he would lock his office door and unroll his prayer rug then. I pay less attention now, because it isn't a daily concern. (Did you know they make special Muslim wristwatches that can tell you when to pray and which way to face anywhere in the world?) Since there are hundreds of religions and hundreds of nationalities and dozens of holidays for each, it's reasonable to focus one's attention on the ones which seem most likely to be relevant in any given context.
