Yesterday and so far today there have only been 5 messages distributed by Cohousing-L but experience indicates this lull will be short lived. I decided to take this lull as an opportunity finally announce a new related mailing list that sends only ONE MESSAGE PER WEEK. The C-L-sum [at] cohousing.org mailing list sends a weekly summary of the messages distributed by cohousing-L in the past week. Each thread - unique subject line - is listed once with the names of the poster and people who reply. To read messages thenselves one would go to the Messages web page ( 'the archives' ). See http://l.cohousing.org/c-l-sum.htm Examplse of summary messages in the archives of the C-L-sum list via that address. The C-L-sum list still a bit unpolished , subscribing to it, and setting up a C-L-sub plus a cohousing-L no mail mode sub so one can post is a bit awkward. So far I've been able to produce the summaries more or less on time (its a semi automated process) but it is still a concern. The most common reason that people unsubscribe from cohousing-L is that they can't deal with all the email. Even Digest mode (most subscribers now use Digest mode) generate a lot of email. C-L-sum offers a way to get very little email but that email reminds one to not forget about the discussion completely. Comments welcome - send directly to me prefereably.
