Tom--Reading your post put me in mind of my annual visit to a Benedictine
monastery, which while it is different (more hierarchical) from cohousing,
is a model from which we can possibly learn something in terms of
sustainability. I googled sustainable monastic communities and found the
following conference announcement, which sounds like it explored some of the
issues:
