Cohousing-L Mailing List: Concord Ecovillage has found land and developers!

Hi All,

Concord Ecovillage is pleased to announce that a Letter of Intent has 
been signed for the purchase of land in West Grove, PA, where we 
intend to build our ecovillage community! We are also pleased to 
announce that Concord Ecovillage will develop this property in 
partnership with Sandy Wiggins and Jackie O'Neil, two nationally 
recognized green building consultants/developers.

We are finalizing the Agreement of Sale, and expect to have signature 
in another week or so. We have rapidly entered the design phase. 
Since the land is already approved for 34 unit townhouses, we expect 
that getting it approved for an ecovillage can be done more rapidly. 
Our marketing goal is to pre-sell 25 homes in order to begin 
construction in early 2010.  Construction will be done in phases, 
with the Common House constructed last and the entire project 
completed in the first half of 2011.

Our next events are:

Oct 19 at 10AM - Tour of Jackie's solar home in Perkiomen, PA
Oct 19 at 3:30PM - Land Walk in West Grove, PA
Oct 19 at 4:30PM - Presentation by a local mortgage broker on 
affordability and qualifying for our mortgages. Location TBA, but in 
either Landenberg,  or West Grove, PA

Nov 2 at 4:30PM - Presentation of sketches and overall updates from 
our developers, Sandy and Jackie. Location TBA, but probably Kennett 
Square or West Grove, PA
