That's an understandable concern, but then it doesn't make sense to ask whether Picasa and Flickr are "secure." They could be more locked-down and secure than your bank's website -- heck, they might already be -- and that still wouldn't protect against someone sharing the web site password with a co-worker.
I doubt very much that any online photo sharing solution will protect against the kind of leak that your community is concerned about.
