For Eastern Village Cohousing in Silver Spring, MD, construction financing was 
provided by BB&T. However, the financing was arranged by our developer, a 
well-established developer of conventional housing who already had a 
relationship with them, and the bank may not have even known it was a cohousing 
community. They probably thought it was a regular condo project. When dealing 
with banks, it's better to mention the cohousing aspect as little as possible.
