Hi- Congrats! I know Joanne, and she’s a good person to have interested in cohousing. I also work at HUD and am a resident at Eastern Village Cohousing. One of my neighbors at EVC, Naomi Friedman, also works at HUD. We are both in the part of HUD called Community Planning and Development (CPD). Naomi works on sustainable communities and economic resiliency. I work on community development, neighborhood stabilization, and disaster recovery. We talk about cohousing when we can, and I have talked to FHA colleagues from time to time when list members or neighbors have had questions about HUD programs that I didn’t know the answers to myself. As ever, I am not representing my employer in any way on this list (ethics thing).
