Alice,

The conference announcement (below) says:

> This conference is designed to fuel a nationwide development of
> senior friendly cohousing communities.

Has anyone attempted a definition of "senior friendly cohousing
communities"? I presume it is broader that "Senior Cohousing"
which has only senior residents. My impression is that
roughly half of seniors would like to live in intergenerational
communities. Can communities be "friendly" to families in all
stages in life, that is "friendly" to seniors AND to families with
children? Are the major financial implications?

Aging in Community Cohousing Conference
May 19 – 21, 2016
Salt Lake City, Utah

Co-Produced by Coho/US and SageHill Cohousing

This conference is designed to fuel a nationwide development of senior
friendly cohousing communities. To help remove development barriers,
presenters will include policy makers, experts in aging and care services,
lenders, and leaders in cohousing and conscious/creative aging. Building a
cohousing community to support successful aging is as much about purposeful
living and caring about the wellbeing of neighbors as it is about beautiful
architecture and sustainability.

Coho/US will be recruiting for presenters later this month; stay tuned for
proposal requests.
