Since this is a common issue within cohousing, with evolving approaches, I
would welcome folks posting all ideas and comments on this list serve.

At my Durham Cohousing, our recently formed "Resale Task Circle" is
creating resources to support our purpose:

The Resale Task Circle seeks to guide our community through the
transitional resale process in a way that encourages and supports our
Community’s commitment to replace ourselves with the best new community
member possible. The purpose of the Resale Task Circle is to create and
develop materials and information, provide support and assistance,
coordinate activities and actions, and maximize communications among all
parties so that a resale meets the needs of the seller, the buyer, and our
community.
Our marketing strategies so far include cultivating our interest listserve,
tabling at the Farmer's Market, hosting an Open House, inviting prospective
members to community dinner, cultivating local media, enhancing our
website, and taking advantage of our outreach efforts such as encouraging
interest in becoming a member at our House Concerts. We also plan to host
an orientation to cohousing, along the lines of what Takoma Village in DC
has been doing successfully for years.
