Here are some things we do at Mountain View Cohousing Community in California.
Each month we have homemade birthday cards to sign for people who are having
birthdays that month, and then a cake at our monthly business meeting.
Guess who’s coming to dinner: host says how many they can accommodate, and
people are assigned to hosts randomly. No one knows until right before where
they are going or who is coming. People show up with dishes. Fun.
July 4th ice cream social—easy, fun, and yummy.
Getting-to-know-you: a person talks about their life or some part of it. 20-30
minutes and then lots of questions.
TGIF: every Friday evening; people bring snacks to share
Thanksgiving potluck on the Sunday after
New Year’s Eve: dinner (optional) and then the fun starts: White Elephant gifts
(optional); a No-Talent show (skits, music, jokes, tricks); games (Dictionary
is good); wild hats, slide show, etc.
I’m enjoying reading what others are doing!
