Cohousing-L Mailing List: Cohousing-L end of year report

The end of the year is traditionally a time to look back and report on
developments. The mailing list is completing it's 29th year and
starting our 30th year. For more history, see Cohousing-L History
on the reference page at http://l.cohousing.org/

Covid-19 has had little effect on the functioning Cohousing-L since
the list is entirely online. But 308 messages have made reference to Covid.
The number of subcribers getting messages by email has been stable --
around 1100 for the last 4 years.

The main development is that Neil Planchon has joined Fred in managing
the list to form the Cohousing-L Admin Team. We currently alternate
two week periods of admin duties.

If anyone is interested in joining the team, send us a note.  There are
tasks that we have not gotten to like overhauling related web pages.

A FEW LIST USE REMINDERS:
All 29 years of messages are archived and searchable. Lots of
interesting information there...

1) In order to keep the archives of a manageable size and reduce
vulnerability to malware, cohousing-L only distributes text messages.
It does not distribute attachments so please avoid sending them.
See FAQ's for alternatives.

2) Also excessive quoting bloats archives and digests, please try to
limit quoted material in posts. Replying to digests and quoting entire
digests is particularly discouraged.  We are sorry that replying
to digests requires a bit of extra effort.

3) Most subscribers are in digest mode and many subscribers have email
addresses at gmail.com.  Gmail (and some other) email systems have
have an option that allows getting Cohousing-L individual messages
that are easier to reply to WITHOUT burdening your inbox with list
messages.  Messages are put in a separate folder in your mail reader.
We urge gmail subscribers to consider it.
