Takoma Village is a very urban community with 43 households. We built a three-bin rat-proof composting system based on the Compost Knox design created by Urban Farm Plans: https://urbanfarmplans.com/products/compost-knox <https://urbanfarmplans.com/products/compost-knox> The person who spearheaded construction of the new bins did a lot of research first and also spoke with the folks responsible for composting at recreation centers in the city. This is what they recommended. Rats are an inevitable feature of the urban landscape, so we needed to address that issue. It took a while to get all three bins built, but the system has been working well. Alicia George Takoma Village Cohousing Washington, DC
