Mosaic and Gather

Again I’m trying to focus on the software communities are using to keep
themselves afloat. I’m amazed that we don’t have the “perfect” program based on
modules that communities can use or not use as they need. Something
comprehensive with all services in one place, one password, one calendar
program, one meal program, one workshare record, all the minutes together,
document files for policies, a decision log, etc.

I tried to get something going with Wordpress several years ago. That didn’t
attract interested users and the recent developments in Wordpress indicate that
it won’t have any advantages over other options.

I am talking with Sean about what modifications are possible and the underlying
languages that are used. Also joined the Gather mission circle and staff
circles as they reorganize around a non-profit structure.

Sean set up a forum so managers could post questions and talk to each other but
it hasn’t taken off. Mostly people still just ask him instead of each other. My
concern is that a software is more likely to be a success if it has a community
of users who share information.

Please get in touch to share information.
