This sounds like a wonderful idea. If there isn’t an agent who will discuss 
this with you, you can dig out the information on Zillow.

The other problem with a firm answer is that real estate varies widely by area, 
time of year, bad upgrade choices, lack of maintenance, etc. that it really has 
to be a local search. To make a general claim would mean researching a 
representative number of communities — I don’t know what that would be.

In our case the prices have been totally comparable with the neighborhood, and 
have been very fast. During the housing crisis, our unsold rate was also 
comparable to the surrounding area. As I remember it was 11%. 

I would also be curious about how quickly units sell in areas where there are 
lots of cohousing communities — same kind competition.
