Cohousing ABQ has sold out of all of our smaller units and only has three- and four-bedroom units still available. With that in mind our Membership Circle has been discussing the process around maintaining a wait list. Do we want only explorers on the list who have completed the explorer process and been approved for membership? If a unit becomes available in a size multiple folks on the wait list want, what criteria establishes priority on who is offered the unit? Seniority on the wait list? Or numerous factors? How long can someone stay on the wait list? Is there a requirement to stay involved with the community on some level to stay on the wait list? We would appreciate hearing from other cohousing communities about how you maintain your wait list and handle some of these questions. Have you tried approaches that were successful or, on the other hand, unsuccessful? Hearing about your experiences can help inform our approach. Patricia Bailey Membership Circle Member Cohousing ABQ
