*What is MAC?* Mid-Atlantic Cohousing (MAC) is a non-profit regional resource for built and developing cohousing communities. We collaborate on projects that address common needs of cohousers and soon-to-be cohousers as well as folks just beginning their inquiry into community living. MAC's purpose is to provide member communities with support and networking for the everyday challenges we all face, whether building or already living in our cohousing community. MAC communities are sources of support and neighborliness to each other. We are deeply committed to the art of living in community seeking innovative ways of fostering interaction and connection among members. We educate and inform the public at large and those folks actively engaged in cohousing about the benefits and challenges of forming, building and living in cohousing. *What does MAC need?* Mid-Atlantic Cohousing, a volunteer organization based in Washington, D.C. comprised of an amenable group of knowledgeable cohousers seeks *to hire a capable individual to support its online image and messaging.* This is a remote part-time contract position with an emphasis on updating the community website (Mid Atlantic Cohousing <http://www.midatlanticcohousing.org/> ) After an initial overhaul of the website, likely to require more hours, the ongoing maintenance is anticipated to reduce the hours needed. MAC is flexible on the number of hours required. *In this position, you will:* - Use your marketing experience to create a monthly newsletter, create and update the Mid-Atlantic Cohousing (MAC) website, facilitate social media campaigns, and seek PR and speaking opportunities for MAC Board members and participants - Further MACs presence and credibility nationally by finding and sharing relevant news and materials, and running social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, Youtube and other platforms. - Respond to requests for information about our MAC communities and refer to the appropriate person. *You’ll have the opportunity to:* - support the first regional cohousing association in the nation expand its membership. - support built, building, and forming cohousing communities to be successful. - connect with cohousing communities across the region. *You are ideal if you have these skills:* - Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks. - Self-directed, able to work independently. - Excellent writing and analytical skills. - Basic administrative skills. - Comfortable working with the Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as Google Suite - Experience with social media outreach, including Facebook, Meetup, YouTube, etc. - Familiarity with or ability to learn certain online platforms such as Weebly, Zoom, and Trello - Oversee update of MAC website, advertisements, flyers, brochures, social media post and other materials as needed. Graphic Design skills are a plus. - Passionate about the idea of community and sustainable development. *Terms* Remote part-time contract work.
