Speaking for myself alone, I'd say that there's something fundamentally misconc eived about households in cohousing having their own laundry machines. THey don 't get it. Cohousing exists (for me) exactly to reduce the number of such machi nes in use in a small area, to increase the amount of contact among neighbors, and to adventure in new ways of sharing machinery, time, and attention. It's th e same misconception that leads people to build new houses with excessively lar ge kitchens and then find out they were using the common house kitchen much mor e (reference Cohousing book). Some parts of the TV commercial version of the Am erican dream have to be let go of when you do cohousing. --Lee.
