A reply from Maine,
        Bob, "from your lips to the ears of God".  Would that Kennebec
Valley CoHousing *was* built and we were all moved in!  I was up at our
land for a land use committee meeting last night.  200 acres of fields and
forests.  As the sun sank and the moon came out, we heard loons calling. 
Oh, to be at home there!!! We plan to break ground next spring.  EVERYTHING
has taken longer than I ever dreamed.  The permiting process has been
incredible slow and politically frustrating.  But persistence is the
answer.  
        Our site in Readfield is about 1 1/2 hours from the coast.  Yes,
there is a group forming in Portland area.  There are also groups in
Farmington, Blue Hill, and Damariscotta.  The first is inland, the last two
are sort of coastal.  (IMHO only millionaires own the ocean front and most
of the access to it here in Maine.)
        Yet Maine has a hefty collection of folks into Greens, C.S.A.,
organic farming, sustainable woodlots, etc.  If you are in New England and
have the time to check out the Common Ground Fair in Windsor, Maine--it is
an excellent place for networking with like minded folk.  The fair runs
from 9/23-25/94.  It is run by MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmer & Growers
Assoc.) 
        Kennebec Valley CoHousing is not fully pre-sold, so we look to the
fair as one of our recruitment opportunities.  If you visit the fair, stop
