Cohousing-L Mailing List: large cohousing developments

        Are there any cohousing groups out there that have a central 
gathering place with a fire pit? I am trying to find alternative means of 
creating a sense of place and community on a large scale. Would fire work 
as nightly dinners do to bring people together during the evening hours?
How about during the day? Some of you suggested a community office bldg. 
or a store. How about water? A pond perhaps or a fountain. Would the 
incorporation and use of these elements be sustainable?
