We're beginning to research conflict resolution procedures so we can have them in place before we need them, as is constantly recommended. Can any of you share either good or bad experiences you've had with conflict resolution techniques you've tried at your communities? I was also wondering about instituting some sort of training program for members in conflict resolution, facilitation, or whatever we might decide is worthwhile for folks to learn about. Maybe we'd make certain training mandatory for someone that wants to perform a certain role; for example, for a person to act as facilitator, she would have to complete the facilitation training. I was also considering the option of giving work credits if a person completes certain training. If someone completes consensus training, for example, he would have to do 3 less hours of community work that month. Has anyone played with any of these ideas? * Mac Thomson San Juan Cohousing * Mac [at] HappyValley.com Durango, Colorado * * "The illusion that times that were are better than those that * are, has probably pervaded all ages." - Horace Greeley --Sent from HappyValley FirstClass BBS 904.246.9255
