So, where'd everybody go? Not too many posts these days. Passion run out on some of the other topics? Well, here's another slant: Assumption: Most folks interested in cohousing care about the environment and want their lifestyle to be as sustainable as possible. Yet many coho sites are out in the suburbs where at least some of the residents have to commute. Bad, bad -- not very sustainable, right? I mean if you're burning up a few swimming pools full of gasoline every year just to get to/from work, isn't that more than a little grotesque? <said with a *grin*, not a holier-than-thou look!> So. Are their any groups forming (or existing sites) that are building some kind of cooperative business into their plans? I mean more than just some residents who share office resources for individual businesses -- a true business that employs several residents. Or, if it's too much work to simultaneously start a business and a coho development, how about brainstorming a cooperative endeavor (or 2 or 3) *after* the place is built and people are moved in. Anybody doin' that? =Mike M=
