I would like to take this opportunity to inform interested persons of the Violet Crown Cohousing group in Austin, Texas. We have been meeting for about two years, have nine charter members, and have identified a site which is very appealing to all our members. Anyone in the area interested in hearing more about us, cohousing in general, and/or the site is invited to an orientation meeting on Monday, May 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. at the Austin Recreation Center which is located at 1301 Shoal Creek Boulevard, slightly off Lamar Boulevard. We would welcome the opportunity to meet others interested in cohousing in general and our group in particular. Thanks, Sally Leach (512) 329-8677 Date: Tue, 16 May 95 03:02 CDT From: Mmariner [at] aol.com Subject: Re: This week's Newsweek So, anybody have any contacts at Newsweek, to tell them more about cohousing in relation to the "bye-bye, suburban dream" article. This is a real opportunity to tout the benefits of coho and considering adapting existing suburbs to have community centers, be less automobile dominated, etc. I'll check to see if Newsweek has an electronic presence on AOL or CIS. Actually I thought Newsweek had an article on coho a few months (years?) back. Several national pubs have had articles, right? =MikeM=
