To add to what Angie McGowan said about off site members being a natural asset: Consistent with my other postings, I see benefits in being as open as possible. If people feel close to the rest of the community and are an asset (more nurturing than toxic) to the group, then include them, by all means. Having off-site members could help make your community less insular -- isolated from the surrounding residents. Angie M's example where the owner specifically wanted to rent the unit she bought also seems to promote diversity and add some variety to the scene. Obviously, if too many units were rented, you might not have the consistency a community needs, but whatever works, right? Mike M
