There is no question that all architects should have professional liability
insurance. But it's grossly expensive, and many good architects don't have
it.

BTW, you, the client, can not sign away your rights and sign an agreement
absolving the architects of liability with you. If you tell the architect
you'll pay for the insurance, you'll find out how expensive it is.
