I'm totally tolerant. People can believe what ever they want. It's totally cool with me as long as they don't try to make me believe. The point is, cohousing enbodies diversity. A menonite community would be too diverse would it? What makes cohousing so great is that interaction with people with differences and a range of backgrounds. If muslim or all catholic cohousing communities started popping up, the movement will be in trouble. It's one thing to have a lot of menonites in a cohousing community, and another to be a menonite community. They can borrow, use, and employ anything they want from cohousing and intensional community. But is no longer cohousing. I can see it now. " The Jews for Jesus community is looking for a few good men" Come on quys, get a grip. Religion of anykind is not part of cohousing. If it happens that everyone is a menonite, great. but to call themselves "The Menonite Community" will again be a disservice to the movement.
