House Rules. Archived anywhere?

Hi everyone, glad to have us all together again. Let me add my thanks to
Fred here. (BTW, Fred, I'm sure there are many silent lurkers around here
who appreciate your work as well)

My first post to the reincarnated list relates to House Rules. In the last
month, in my designated capacity as contact person for Doyle Street
CoHousing (Emeryville--Bay Area, California for you newbies), I have
received requests from three a-building cohousing groups for copies of our
house rules. I have sent these out (I'm a little contrite about doing so
without the permission of my group, but I wlll get same at our next
meeting), but I am now wondering out loud here if there is a place, perhaps
on the web site, where we could all post our house rules for others to
peruse and use in developing their own. Has this already been done somewhere
and I haven't found out about it yet?

There's a lot of talk about trying to make building cohousing easier.
Usually it is developer/builder/financing talk, but one of the ways we can
make the learning-to- live-togther part easier is to share work we older
groups have done on things like house rules. I actually heard someone say at
last September's conference that it was "important" for each group to figure
out its house rules and like documents from scratch. I don't agree with him.
Not that any two sets of rules will be alike, but it surely is helpful to
get an idea of appropriate scope and subject matter that other groups have
chosen to make rules for, and take it from there. Don't worry, there will
still be plenty of stuff to argue about (oh, excuse me, I meant "discuss.")

p.s.From time to time. let's remember to say what part of the world we are
posting from. I still don't know where some of you with whom I am quite
intimate here hail from, and I'd like to.

p.s #2 A little birdie told me that Katie and Chuck will be on line
momentarily. I don't know whether or not they will subscribe to coho-l, but
I am encouraging them to do so.
