Quick message from Australia. I am an architect with an interest in both Cohousing and affordable housing. In the state of NSW, affordable housing seems to be the keyword at the present time. Whilst Cohousing is not up and running to the extent that it is in the States, the co-operative model is a growing option. I think it will end up working the opposite way here in Australia, whereby, the co-operative model (currently rental-based in the public housing sector) will gain popularity as it is incorporated into an affordable housing strategy. This is what I am trying to encourage with the hope that the benefits of cohousing are realised by the wider community and adopted within the private sector. Good luck with Windsor Cohousing. I think it's a wonderful idea!
