Hello, I-Louise Harris - am part of TAW in Sebastopol, Calif. We are moving in next month. Our parents group has been planning the play yard. We have 2 questions. 1. What makes a good play surface and surface under the play structure and swings. We'd like to use grass as well as having a hard surface for other activities. What has worked for you or not worked for you. Wood shavings/bark seems rough and dirty?? 2, With kids ranging in age from toddlers to 6 or so what has worked for fencing and gates. We are near a public road and so need a good level of safety for the little ones. I have really been enjoying all the other posts, especially the one about a stack of dirt and a felled tree-brings back memories of freedom and adventure. Thank you for any input. This list has been invaluable to us as we have been building our group and our project. Louise Harris
