Do you really want to go up and down stairs every time you want to do laundry? What about mobility and accessability? I strongly urge you to put the laundry where everyone can use it easily-on a floor that walks out to ground level. While you're at it, make sure your commonhouse is accessible too. You'll be glad you did when someone comes visiting or to live and they can get everywhere with their wheelchair. You won't get sued that way, either. -- Liz Stevenson >> We tried to get it on the first floor, but there just wasn't room. However, we'll be putting in a lift to the make the basement accessible- actually, we had to put a lift in to use the basement for anything (due to access codes). The entire building, except some potential storage space on the second floor, will be accessible. We also originally had a design with a side door inbetween the first floor and basement (like a split-level entrance), but we may have cut that out recently because of cost overruns... I'll have to look. -Roger
