The scale of your community has a lot to do with whether a laundry will work. Tight, close buildings make it reasonable to walk over to do the laundry. If your site is larger and spread out, it is much less reasonable. I seem to recall that the homes that were further than 200 feet from the commonhouse were unlikely to use a central laundry. I just tried to find that number somewhere but can't so maybe I am not remembering it right? Anybody have any observations of laundry use with relationship to distance?
