Awesome. I guess it is a good idea to find out what the work entails before
one commits... I don't mind doing carpentry but this, I think I would have to
slash my wrists! :-)

Tell us, what are concrete floors like to live with? I have this image of
clammy
and hard and unpleasant underfoot... (?)>>

kay did make it sound horrible. We had a pretty different experience. We
used integral color in the poured concrete. Then most of us only had to seal
the floor. We shopped around and found a guy who did it for $.30 or $.40 a
sq ft or something like that. One or two households went for the fancier
staing and he charged around $2/sq ft for that. One family stained their
floor with coffee grounds on their hands and knees - looks nice. then the
sealer can just be slopped on with a mop and bucket. but I decide it was
worth paying about $300 to have someone else do it. He did three coats in
one day and then I moved in!!

We love our concrete floors - wonderfully cool in the summer, pleasant in the
winter and soooo easy to clean! And of course we have area rugs here and
there - but no more carpets to keep clean (and full of bugs and allergens) -
hooray!!
