Cohousing-L Mailing List: co housing help

Hi, I am just a mother of a family who very much wants to live in a
co-housing situation.  I was wondering if some of you all out there could
give me some insider tips on how to find out what I am looking for.  I have
found a couple sites but they really don't give much info.  We can live
almost anywhere, my husband has work flexibility.  Mainly we want three
things:
1) to own a house and the land -- not townhouse or condo
2) be in a community that is mainly families with children
3) has a common area where meals and fun are regularly shared
