Hello from Vermont.
I'm preparing a presentation for a group of neighbors who are interested =
in exploring cohousing as an antidote to urban sprawl in an area where =
housing is tight. Our nascent cohousing community is looking at a site =
in their neighborhood. This group has concerns about the impact of *any* =
neighborhood on their schools and their roads. I have made the following =
assertions based on nothing but anecdotal evidence:
* Cohousing attracts homeschooling families.
* Cohousing attracts more retirees than do traditional neighborhoods.
* Cohousing attracts people who like to work at home.
* Cohousers drive less.
I sure would like to be able to back up my assertions with some hard =
data. If you live in a cohousing community, could you take a moment to =
tell me=20
* how many households live there,=20
* how many are empty-nesters,=20
* how many of them homeschool,=20
* how many work from home,=20
*and whether or not you think you drive less (and how much less) now =
that you live in cohousing?
Questionnaires are a pain, I know, so thanks for taking the trouble.
