Greg Smith from East Bay CoHousing here, responding to your babysitting
question.

We currently have one household with a child. We provide childcare at our
monthly general meeting, and request that interested people with children
wanting childcare RSVP as such. If no one attends with a need at the
orientation, and there are no kids present by the time our meeting begins,
we pay the childcare provider for their time spent and they can go. We have
contacted neighborhood placement agencies and have had good success.

In our opinion it is good practice for those who want to include people
wanting their children involved, or feel that they would not attend
otherwise. It can increase the opportunity for family involvement and show
our support for an open environment.

Small investment, large potential return!
