We pass the hat for donations for all those who don't have kids with the sitter(s), subtracted that from the total we need to pay the sitters, and then split the difference among those who do have kids with the sitters. We added a twist recently. Those who have kids that usually need watching are on the kid-watching list. If you aren't coming to a meeting you have to let the person in charge of the sitter know in advance. This gives us a good idea of how many sitters we'll need for that meeting.
