Natalie from Milagro Cohousing asked about attracting more families with
children, and the possibility of restricting sales to encourage that.

If you were in Massachusetts, and were already built, it would be
problematic, legally, to restrict sales to familes only. You might want to
check with your attorney about how to structure this. Earlier, in the
development phase, when you are just a corporation or partnership without
land or houses for sale, these sorts of restrictions are much easier to
impose & enforce, as long as they aren't restrictions against "protected
categories" (race, religion, etc.).

As for attracting families, without a specific restriction in place, I'd
rank the following as most important:
-Already having families in the group with kids in the same age range as
a propective family.
    -Excellent public schools.
-Child care provided for meetings, paid for entirely or largely by the
group.
-Any work requirement has some give or sensitivity to the needs of
families.

(Where we just scheduled our next all-group picture. The last one was 5
years ago, soon after we had all moved in & before the common house was
built.)
