Dear List, At Tierra Nueva, Cen. CA Coast, we recently had a home sold (Steve, the original owner, is a single senior, and is off travelling the world) to a blended family of 4 (single mom and her 4 year old son, grandmother and step-grandfather). The mom and her sweet son, Little Bear, have been attending common meals during the transition before they actually moved in. Last night was their first common meal as moved-in residents. As they were walking to the common house for dinner, Little Bear stopped walking, looked up the stairs to the common house and said to his mom, "This is when community begins." For all of you who are trying to tweak your marketing to certain demographics, it is helpful to remember that the original members will eventually move on, or pass away. Your demographics will be in flux. Don't get too attached to the numbers. I have always believed that those who are drawn to live in your community will do so, regardless of the current marketing strategy. And everyone has their unique gift to offer. coheartedly, Patty Mara Gourley tierra nueva, cen.
